Hence the question of the week is: Why Is Tinder Racist?
I won't tease you with this one. We already know that minorities get less replies via OKCupid's analysis and most likely the rest of the online dating world. The short answer is"Online dating is affected strongly by race tastes".
*Note, a few people in the remarks have noticed that its just preference rather than racism. Thus what we can say is that based on this experiment, Tinder results are heavily race-influenced (to a statistically significant amount ). So is online dating. So is society. But the data may surprise you as far as how much race affects really are vs. what we anticipate.
Fortunately for us, I am Asian and super intelligent so I devised a super cool way to test Tinder's racism HAHA

For those of you that do not know, Tinder is a fast growing app that enables users to"like" or"refuse" a profile based on that individual's picture. If both consumers"like" every other, a match is made and you may then message the individual. Folks praise it for weeding out the"creepy" factor because girls get to decide on which guys they prefer based on their Tinder pictures. Other people complain it is based on superficial factors like one's picture and bodily attributes.

Methodology to Check theory:
I generated 6 profiles of different types of people
I conducted a hacked automatic tool that enjoys everyone Locally on Tinder
Each profile had multiple pics and different tag lines, and that I just included below the primary profile pics
We recorded the number of return enjoys in 24 hours, and also the number of messages each profile obtained
So, without further ado here are our contestants:

You may recognize Cas from the PUA community -- we needed his pic to try out the"girls like men with muscle" theory. I've got another friend who is latino and has a great deal of success using a shirtless pic on Tinder. Not all of Cas's pics are muscle pics, only his principal photo.

You'll have to believe me when I say I am a 8.5. I'm Asian too. Instead of the muscle path, we went together with the"high class" company photograph:

Yes, most of search conditions being equal, white men performed better than Asians, with the exception of the Asian version vs. ordinary white man.
Once We organize the data to reflect top conversions: You may notice like all online dating, girls get a disproportionate quantity of attention from guys. EVERYONE wants to meet her.

Our man model got the highest conversion rate, but then, it is only 10% of what the HB9 woman got! Women just have considerably more streaming inbox messages than men. This is a significant mindset. In all levels of the game, women get bombarded with interest. If they ignore you, then it is usually not because everything you said was incorrect, but instead, you did not stand out among the hundreds of men messaging / liking her. With ordinary guys me and Cas competing with King, King obtained a slightly higher percent conversion than we did, but not as much as we all expected.
Let us organize the information by race only:
When you look at the gap between 0.39 (me) vs. King Booth 0.52, the difference is only 0.13%. From the grand scheme of 1000+ likes, this is not so big of a deal. However, it is 34% greater than me (14 vs 13), but I had a bigger like pool of 3335 vs. his 2684. Given that King's picture is just an ordinary facebook pic, also mine was correctly taken with all and photographers, his profile pic still outperformed mine. Basically, at the"normal guys" level, being white gives you a slightly higher likelihood of being"enjoyed". So we confirmed what we already knew for a long period: Asian, black,etc, minorities have to stand out an compete fiercely with their white counterparts to receive exactly the very same results.
Also, I was amazed that Cas didn't receive more enjoys. I'm not sure why, and another profile pic is well worth a test.
In the model level, Harry gained over 162% more likes than Vince Lin. This requires further testing. To begin with, his picture was in color, and he had more pics. Vince only had 2-3 pics. All in all, the percentages weren't as high as I thought they'd be for racism. It's more probable that girls are overwhelmed on the internet, and additionally with Tinder, they're more selective about the types of men they like. The whole demand-supply problem is more of a factor than race.

My white friends have reported obtaining no matches and stopping, so it is possible that the picture has a huge factor to do with results.
Back in Scottsdale AZ, I ran Tinder automobile app and got tons of likes from fairly hot women @ about 5 percent. It is all dependent on the male-female ratio and hotness amount of women in town.
Additional Testing
1. Tinder appears to have some issues in their servers and on occasion a bunch of enjoys come in at the same time, it is possible our data was corrupted by some of the scaling issues. Most tests desired over a longer time period, maybe 1 week.
2. We can test response rate on Tinder by sending messages and see how down the woman is. I didn't do this because it had been too deceiving and that I did not want to lead anyone on.

4. Have a variety of male models with different"looks" emo. Vs. classy vs. hunk and see which ones work better. Have white and Asian models
5. Evaluation Asian women vs. black and white women. Do they have an"Asian fetish" edge, or does racism use to Asian women too?
